Morgan Aero 8

Morgan Aero 8 The 2006 Morgan Aero 8 is a 2-door, 2-passenger convertible sports car, available in one trim only, the Convertible. A radical new design for Morgan, the first Morgan Aero 8 was launched in 2000. Significantly updated for 2006, the new Morgan Aero 8 features a host of revisions including a restyled front end based on the stunning and one-off Aeromax. This car embodies the latest motoring technology, from its bonded aluminium chassis to its 4.4 litre V8 BMW engine. Upon introduction, the Aero 8 is equipped with a standard 4.4-liter, V8, 325-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. Other than the headlights, the styling is quite attractive. The interior has bespoke rotary controls and switches to go with high-quality BMW parts-bin items. The dash looks great, the leather smells sublime, and the wood that's on display is real ash-and it's actually there for a structural Morgan Aero 8reason. Weighing only 2500 pounds, the Aero 8 is very quick in a straight line, with a claimed 0-to-60-mph time of just 4.5 seconds. Midrange acceleration is amazing and is accompanied by a raucous V-8 growl. The six-speed ZF manual transmission and clutch are as fluid as those in a BMW, and the brakes are superb from speed, if a little over-servo'd around town.

Morgan Aero 8 The race proven bonded aluminum chassis and the coach-built body remain a hallmark of all Morgans. Under the traditionally styled bonnet you will find the very latest version of the 4.4 V8 from BMW, incorporating their brilliant Vanos and Valvetronic control systems. Bosch ABS, Electronic Brake Distribution and Drag Torque Control all combine to maximize balance and poise without over compensating for driver involvement, leading to a unique driving experience delivering safety, high performance and a highly involving driving experience. Combining its 325 bhp with the lightweight construction delivers a class busting 284 bhp/ton adding up to a 0-62 mph time of under 4.5 seconds and a top speed of over 160 mph (260 km/h). Yet it also possesses the ability to come to a full stop, from 62 mph in just 35.8 meters, or put another way, less than 9 car lengths.
